Oh, I know, I know—–the world is coming to an end. The day outside is abominable—rainy, blustery, cold—and you were all supposed to go fishing; well, take stock of the situation—-all is not lost, if your computer works. There are all kinds of bass fishing games online just for the looking, and you can find almost anything you are looking for that will take away your doldrums and give you hours of fun chasing fish online, almost as good as the “reel” thing.

First up is Bass Fishing Pro—-one of the most fun and most realistic of the bass fishing games found on the internet. As you get into the action of catching fish, you will move upward from level to level the more fish you catch and the quicker at it you get. But don’t get so involved that you lose track of how much gas you have in the boat, because when the gas runs out—-guess what, boat stops and what comes next? You got it—-oars come out and you are rowing after the fish. Not good for your rapid pursuit of fish, and your catching prowess relates in direct proportion to the forward motion of the boat. Make it a goal to never run out of gas and you can upgrade your boat as you go and as you win fishing tournament after tournament moving up the ladder of success. Good times had here.

This is a good one when it comes to fun bass fishing games. This is called Fishing Champion and it is cartoon based with all kinds of fun things happening all around you. The casting action that you go through is so realistic you will feel like you are actually fishing and then hooking the fish and finally reeling it in. The object is to hook bigger and bigger fish, because the bigger the fish, the more money goes into your pot; and the opportunity exists to get extra cash by hooking bonus fish. What a trip! Along the way are lots of bass fishing tournaments and as you win at each tournament, you move up from level to level to reach the top. Great fun.

Our next candidate in bass fishing games found on the internet is one called Fishing Frenzy, and it is true to its name. This one is for those folks who want a real challenge in trying to beat the clock, and as the game gets harder, it gets more frenzied, and you start to sweat as you watch the clock ticking and ticking away without missing a beat. The fish grab the line and pull the bobber under the water’s surface and the fun is on—-you set your hook and go after him in the shortest time possible. The action increases as does the difficulty of each level and that old clock never stops. You will have the “time” of your life with this game. Lots of action and fun.

As far as bass fishing games go, this one is a real (or should I say “reel” winner). It’s called Reel Fishing and it tends to lean on the simple side of action, but nevertheless is a winner when it comes to fun for the whole family. The idea is to catch as many fish as you can, while you sit in a stationary boat on the water with the fish swimming as shadows below you. You cast at the shadows as they move constantly around your boat in circular patterns and you aim your line at the moving shadows. But, there is a catch here—-watch out for the level of drag pressure you put on your line, because if it becomes too great, SNAP—-and you are done. Good family game and will keep you entertained for hours.

The next item in the list of most fun of the bass fishing games, is one called Survivor Fishing. In order to get anything to eat, you must live off the land. You make your way to the river where there is a goodly supply of fish, and test your skill and reflexes at catching as many fish as you can so you have something for supper. Be careful in your zest to catch your next meal, because if you pull too hard on the equipment you are using, the pole will break and you will be out of the game……the object is not only to catch as much as you can with your knowledge of fishing, but also to keep close watch on the tautness of your line so you don’t pull too hard and end the game. You have the option of playing with a character face to make it more personal, or not; the choice is yours.

Just remember, that even though your plans for a day of fishing in the great outdoors have fallen through; that doesn’t mean you have to give up any hope of fishing at all. Just browse up bass fishing games on the internet, and you will find tons of them that will keep you and your family entertained for literally hours.

It is no hidden fact, that more and more people are buying fishing kayaks every day. Now, especially in this recession, a lot more people are resorting to kayaks as a way to get on the water. They finally seem to realize that the big rig 60 mph boats are not needed to catch more fish. More often than not, you catch a lot more fish out of kayaks than you do the big rig boats.

You can sneak into 2ft deep water, back into areas where you would never find a big boat. When was the last time you seen a big rig down in the lumber yard at the south end of the lake? I get down there all the time. We used to have to anchor our big rig back there, and get out to wade fish up and down the shore.

This worked, for the most part. During spawning season, these fish don’t typically abandon their bed, so walking through the water won’t spook them. Any other time, good luck, or get a fly rod. But with fishing kayaks, you can see the bed from a farther reach, and are able to sneak up onto it. Fishing kayaks are incredibly stealthy, and this is helping their sales more than hurting it.

One other reason more and more people are buying fishing kayaks lately, is for the storage part of it. You can’t store a big rig easily, or any other trailered boat for that point. You can store 4-5 kayaks easily on a wall mounted rack, to be able to take your entire family out on the water. Or you can have an excuse to fill up the extra room with more fishing setups.

Owning more than a few boats, my fiance believes that people just don’t need this many. Fishing kayaks do teach people how to know which lures or fishing setups to bring along for the day, as you can’t bring everything with you, it is a quick lesson.

The gas bills always come into play when owning a big boat. Some weekends, I have blown through $1000 worth of gas, just taking the family out for the weekend. Now that I have sold my boat, it almost upsets me to think about the money we had invested in it.

In other words, it is super expensive to run these big rigs these days. When gas got up to $4 per gallon and higher, more and more boats were sitting in the garage, just collecting finance payments. You couldn’t use the trolling motor, because the battery died so soon, and charging it was getting more expensive as well.

Times are getting tougher now a days, and more are starting to see that you can enjoy fishing kayaks for a very little investment. Fishing kayaks hold their value as well, especially if you purchase used, you can usually get what you paid for it when it comes time to sell.

Jozhua is an avid kayak fisherman who has been using fishing kayaks instead of bass boats for over 5 years now. After spending this much time in the sport, he has finally started up the site over at: http://fishingkayaksnow.blogspot.com

When it comes to ultralight bass fishing during the summer, most people usually only go in the mornings or evenings. This is typical, as it is the most comfortable time to go. They don't realize that they are missing out on some prime fishing time!

When it comes to ultralight bass fishing during the summer, most people usually only go in the mornings or evenings. This is typical, as it is the most comfortable time to go. They don’t realize that they are missing out on some prime fishing time!

One of everybodies favorite ultralight bass fishing styles is using topwater baits. So yeah, name somebody who doesn’t love a big blowup, especially on a small lure! When people are talking about the subject, poppers, and buzzbaits are usually the top of the conversation. People have caught more fish with these 2 lures, than with any other topwater baits combined.

The prime time to use topwater lures is early in the morning, or later in the evening. When the clouds are moving in thick, and the sky is getting grey, you should also break out your topwater lures. You can get away with using fast moving lures during the mid summer, but you just have to pick the right time.

The water is heating up this time of year, and bass can’t regulate their body temperature. If the water you are fishing in isn’t real deep, the body of water will warm up to a level the bass isn’t comfortable with, and won’t want to eat or chase a bait until it cools back down.

When the sun is high in the sky however, the fish can’t look overhead for their meal. They don’t have eyelids to protect themselves and their eyes from damage. It is easier to stay in cover, or look down for your meal, until the sun settles in. This is when I head for the worms and jigs.

The worm and jig are two baits that are excellent when the sun is high up. They can be crawled across the bottom, or jigged rapidly creating a thumping and moving the dirt, attracting attention. It is generally slower going, finding the fish with these baits and methods, so remember to be patient. This is after all, how you catch fish — patience.

So I have been ultralight bass fishing for a long time now, and one question that comes to mind pretty often is how does rod length really effect our fishing? I could come up with a million answers, so could anybody, but I did think of a list of things that I know you should pay attention to when you are about to buy a new pole.

Most anglers feel that you should go to a shorter rod around 4.5 feet, or 5 feet long or so. A common occurring thing that I see is people thinking that these rods have more flex and whip to them, allowing you to cast farther.

Stout rods have a great backbone on them, and are nice for fishing in areas where you might need to pitch or flip because of the debris. These rods will give you the best accuracy of any of the rods, but the casting distance is limited greatly.

When you go with a ultralight fishing pole around 5′6″ to 6′0″, you are going to get a good bargain for your money. These rods, specifically the 5′6″ rods, will have nice accuracy, with only a limited cut in casting distance. The 6′0″ will give you a little less accuracy, with a lot more distance.

You don’t sacrifice much accuracy with this length, you can still use it as a light action flipping stick, or pitching stick for 1/4oz jigs in tight places. This is a technique for smaller fish on ultralight gear however, use bigger gear for the bigger fish locked into the muck!

This length of rod is considered general use, and most people can get by using a 6 footer. They still give you good accuracy, and lure placement, but you must practice a little longer to achieve the same accuracy that you would with a 4 1/2 footer. The difference is minor, but it does take some adjusting.

Rods that are 6′5″ or longer are great for long casting distance in open areas. If it is windy outside, you best grab the long rod, with a topwater on it, and sling that joker as far as you can. You can get the small baits flying so good, that they almost go out of sight!

Talking about distance on the long rods can’t go without talking about the accuracy. It is very poor on rods of this length, or longer. When you can empty the whole spool, you can’t really be accurate.

When we all begin ultralight bass fishing, we have the typical overload of questions. Once we venture into the bass fishing aisle at our favorite store, we are then overwhelmed with the choices. Questions flood into my inbox asking me about lures, most of them are good questions. However, sometimes, people ask me about the scam baits, and this part hurts me. This is why I have taken the time to put together this list of must have baits, that I believe belong in your tackle box!

The first, is an all time favorite, and definate classic by any definition. Brought around in 1949 by Mr. Nick Creme, the plastic worm has been catching fish longer than many of us have been around. You can’t go wrong with a 4″ plastic worm with a curly tail, in either green pumpkin, or junebug. Guaranteed fish catcher. If you aren’t getting bit, change your presentation.

The Rapala Floating Minnow comes in second on the list, and is one of my personal go to confidence baits. These baits kind of act like a zara spook when you reel them slow enough on top of the water. If you get moving faster though, they are a diving jerkbait or crankbait, and the jointed version just creates a more attention getting action. Dead stick this bait, for a different presentation. Also, remember to stick to the smaller sizes, in silver/black back, or gold/black back.

The grub is also a classic hit with many. I prefer grubs in the 2inch size, even though they don’t have the meaty appearances of most baits, they do catch fish. The small body with the waving tail is often times exactly what the fish prefer. The presentations are unlimited with this bait, from the top of the water column to the bottom. You could even burn it like a buzzbait for a new presentation. I like the green/black with the chartreuse tails, using a black ball jig head with no skirt.

The fourth lure that I highly recommend to you is the Booyah Pond Magic spinnerbait. I prefer the 3/16 ounce model, in either firetiger, or white with copper blades. You can vary your presentation by either slow rolling the bait, or keeping it moving on the bottom just fast enough to get the blades to spin, or waking it — burning it just below the waters surface, creating a small v-wake for fish to hone in on it.

Last, but not the least, is the skirted jig. Even on ultralight fishing gear, these things are proven “big” fish catchers. You catch a grip of fish on ultralight gear, but the skirt jig weeds out the smaller fish. I rarely catch a fish under 1lb using a skirted jig and trailer fishing in ponds.

Ultralight Fishing, tackle, lures, lines and other similar equipment are important options when bass fishing starts to get tough This way you an often catch a keeper or even a few small bass. It is a good option when other things won’t work, but most of the time it does not work for large fish. This type of angling is very suitable for rivers, even small streams.

If you are taking part in a club tournament and find yourself stuck and not catching anything, you should consider trying a finesse lure. Making use of this has given many a despondent angler a new lease of life and helped him to get back in the tournament.

What is ultralight fishing exactly? The name describes a type of fishing where the anglers make use of very light weight rods and reels, mainly to catch sport fish. It was never designed to use for catching large fish, so using it for that purpose will not meet with much success.

The name of the game here is often small rods. Now when we speak of small rods, we don’t mean miniatures. Many of these rods rods are close to two meters in length, and although manufactured from light weight material, they are extremely sturdy and able to do the job they were designed for. They very often have most of the same features you will find in the larger rods.

When it comes to the choice of reels, many fishermen prefer the trusted old spinning wheel. Small here also does not mean minute, and they have the same features as many of their bigger brothers. They are extremely solid and reliable, yet weigh only a few hundred grams.

You should make sure that you buy the right fishing line to use with the rod and the reel. If you choose the wrong line it will negatively affect both your casting distance and overall success rate.

The hooks that you use should of course also be of a size and type that is suitable for light weight sport fishing. You aren’t catching sharks my friend, this is simply sport fishing.

Fishing lures:

The correct type of lure would depend on the type of fish you will be catching. Below is a short summary of the most important types used by fishermen:

*Spinners/spoons. The lure of choice for many anglers. Spinners have a blade that spins, either by itself or with a shaft in the middle. The spinning causes the water to start vibrating, and a large number of fish species find this very alluring.

*Small jigs. They also come in an assortment of sizes, but all of them manage to imitate various items of prey, including crayfish. This is usually very successful with fish in the sunfish group and thus the right choice if you are after catching pan fish.

*Smaller stick baits/crank baits. They look like miniature bait fish, and predatory fish type like small mouth bass and various types of pan fish have a distinct liking for this kind of lure.

By this time you should realize that your choice of ultralight fishing, tackle, lures, lines and hooks will have an important effect upon the success of your fishing trip, and on the amount of fun you are going to have.

Ultralight Fishing isn’t a tough sport, but sometimes you need a Ultralight Fishing Tackle in order to have a successful day on the water.

There are many things in the market to help you, things like Fishing Videos, Books, Apparel(Shirts, Hat, Watches), to put you on the right path. Being an angler is probably the most rewarding sport one can do. It is not only relaxing, but gives one a sense of achievement when you get it right. Of course, there are hundreds of ways to fish. Your goal would be to find your own style and adapt here and there.

Lets have a look at Fishing Videos:

Try to source the best on the market; ones that actually show you how the fish is being caught with clear and detailed commentary. It is detail you are after, like for instance what exactly to do when you actually have caught a fish. Quality videos are made by experts in their fields and who understand that you will need lots of practical tips and tricks of the trade. So unless you have someone who can stand next to you on a boat or in a river, to guide you through the process, a fishing video can be a great substitute.

Here you need to ask yourself if it’s just entertainment you are looking for. If that’s the case then I’m afraid you are not going to learn anything. It is good instructional videos that you must find. These videos will give you step by step instructions on how to do almost anything when it comes to fishing. They love their sport and will gladly part with their knowledge. If you have someone who is already a good angler, then let them watch it with you. This way you get good feed back.

Be informed by reading:

Its useful to source the most popular books available. If you go for an obscure author, you might get the wrong instructions. Remember you want as much detail as possible. Look at the book; is it just a pictorial, in which case you wouldn’t benefit at all. Does it have illustrations as well as good content? It’s also useful to find books that will give you all the fishing terms you need. You don’t want to get caught stammering along not knowing what type of bait you put on a hook or what to say when you are about to cast your fly in the water.

Online books are another great way to get information about fly fishing. There are many e-books available for download. Look for the ones that will fit your needs. If you’re a beginner, you may want a comprehensive guide to all aspects of fly fishing. If you’re more experienced, an update book may be the way to go. Also, look at the credentials of the author. What experience do they have? Can they give you factually correct information?

You need to look the part when fishing:

Make sure your clothes fit loose enough for you to turn in, especially when you have to lift up your arms to cast off. Get well fitted boots that will provide protection from cold water. Don’t forget to buy a durable rain coat. You don’t want to get caught out in the rain just when you hook a fish.

In a nutshell, Fishing Videos, Books, Apparel, for example (Shirts, Hats, Watches) can all assist you greatly in your quest to catch the big one. We cannot stress it more. It is always nice to see a confident, relaxed and happy angler, than someone who gets tied up in his lines or with hooks protruding from his fingers. See you on the water!

Specialist Fishing has the best Braided Fishing Line Information that you can find anywhere on the internet.

If you have the right equipment, knowing how to best use it, when and how, (also how not to use it and what it is not suitable for), can all help you in your bass fishing adventure.

The basics regarding rods, reels, line, hooks, weights, bobbers, sinkers, lures, sensors and other equipment (hats, vests, nets, scents, scissors etc.), gives you an appreciation for having the right tools for the task(s) at hand.

As a highly participatory and engaging sport, Bass fishing is simply almost unparalleled in the vast amount of styles and tools to use. From quiet streams, tranquil lakes to open sea and rushing rivers – there is something for everyone.

If you are looking for quick tips on the right equipment, most suited to your purpose and the techniques to master to catch bass in any conditions, might this next section enlighten and inspire you, as you delve right into the ‘utilities of the fishing trade’.

Limited space does not permit large comparative explanations or ramblings on the merit of some tools above certain others. These debates are well known and well published in existing literature. We take a more practical approach and look at what you will actually need to hook your next big one, besides random chance and luck! We always try to point out that picking the right equipment means a lot of different thing to different people. Each angler has his/her own interpretation of what that means, varying skill level, physical characteristics and strengths/weaknesses, so we will not profess knowing what is right for you. What we do offer are mere suggestions on which tools will stack the odds in your favor and help you enjoy preparing, rigging, baiting/hooking, retrieving and landing YOUR next BIG ONE! Ensuring that is does not join the droves of ‘the ones that got away’!
