Whether you are an angler from USA, France, Spain, or the UK, there is no better way than to spend time on a carp fishing holiday. American anglers no longer look at carp as ‘trash fish’. Known for their large weight that could be anywhere in the range of 30 – 80 lbs. plus, carp has slowly gained the reputation as fierce freshwater fighters, equal to their European counterparts.

Carps have a larger life span, which is why they tend to grow larger. Carp fishing holidays along the St. Lawrence River could be the most wonderful experience for anglers. Apart from huge catches, package deals also include accommodation, fishing equipment, and a host of personal services. Missouri is a great place for a carp fishing holiday with a number of areas that include Rothwell Park Lake, and Crowder Lake.

Anglers from the UK have a variety of venues for a perfect carp fishing holiday. The region of Norfolk is home to some of the largest carp weighing 40 lbs. Championship Lake is well stocked with carp and has a number of lodges close the lake, which makes it convenient for anglers. The south England coast near Bournemouth is an ideal area for a carp fishing holiday. A few secluded spots are equipped with log cabins and are perfect for carp fishing. Quaint little villages provide the perfect ambience for a holiday.

The region of Cornwall is a tranquil haven that is ideal for fishing. The area has a number of lodges and luxury cottages in secluded spots with plenty of carp. The 3-acre Folly Foot Lake in Somerset is perfect for both day and night fishing. The lake is well stocked with some of the largest Common and Ghost Carp. Several fishing areas provide their own equipment for safety, so you need to check prior to setting out on your trip.

The Drayton Reservoir in Northamptonshire also has some big carp and a hotel with all the amenities for a fishing holiday. Persons above 12 require an Environment Agency Rod Fishing License, which costs 22.00 and is valid for a year. Cumbria and Devon also have some good carp fishing spots. From the rugged to the luxurious, there is a variety of carp fishing holidays available in the UK.

France attracts a number of carp anglers due to a large number of carp lakes, with fish in excess of 40 lbs. Depending on your budget there are variety of spots suitable for a fishing holiday. Public lakes and rivers are ideal for low cost carp fishing. However, you need to find accommodation and transport facilities located near the lake. Privately owned lakes such as Rainbow Lake and L’Etang du Chef de Ville guarantees a big catch. Boats are available on hire at privately owned lakes and are therefore suitable for those on a higher budget.

To avoid any hassles, anglers can opt for an all inclusive package that takes care of accommodation, fishing equipment, and special expeditions along several lakes such as Etang du Vivier, and Croix Blanche. Carp fishing regulations vary, while some lake allow only 3 rods, other may require 4 rods for fishing, so make sure you inquire about the rules and regulations in advance.

Although carp fishing was first popularized in European countries, it has since then became very popular throughout the United States and Canada. This sport is enjoyed in many places, but it is Europe that has the majority of the market when it comes to tackle. The catch and release method is most commonly used when it comes to catching carp, because they are not commonly eaten. When it comes to carp fishing tackle, there is an abundance in European countries, but other people have found that turning to the internet is the best way to buy tackle.

Fishing is one of the most popular past times. The simplicity of the sport attracts people of all ages and from every corner of the planet. The bait will usually determine the type of fish that is caught and there are many records just waiting to be broken. One impressive record was set at Rainbow Lake, which is located in France. The fish weighed over 83 pounds.

The basic items needed to catch a carp are the bait, which is on a hook, and other tackle developed for carp fishing. There are many technologically advanced products that will help the person trying to catch a fish. Some of them have alarms and other indicators to get the fisherman’s attention when the fish is around and interested in the bait. To find the fishing pole that best suits your needs, do a little shopping around to test the feel of the rod.

When it comes to carp bait, you will have a lot to choose from. Some people even use dried dog food, cereals, peanut butter, bread, and sweets. You can often times find the most effective bait right in your own super market.

Your bait is a very important aspect of carp fishing. Some people find themselves fishing for hours, days even. They take the time to get the fish in the area used to the taste of their bait by throwing it out into the waters. This helps to outsmart them when it comes time to catch the fish.

When it comes to using a hook, it is the size that usually matters. If the hook is too small, a larger fish can spit it out. If the hook is too large for the type of fish wanted, it will not fit in the mouth of the fish. Most of the time the better the hook, the higher the price.

Take the time to find the carp fishing tackle that will work best for you. It will help you to have a more pleasant fishing experience.

Peter Hooper has been involved in fishing tackle for a number of years and runs Snags fishing Tackle a great resource of information and fishing tackle on the internet. This and other unique content ‘carp fishing’ articles are available with free reprint rights.

From bait dips and meat dips to tigernuts and boilies, as much as anglers are addicted to carp fishing, they also need to use the right bait.

From bait dips and meat dips to tigernuts and boilies, as much as anglers are addicted to carp fishing, they also need to use the right bait.

Carp fishing is a specialized sport, and there has always been a variety of concoctions where bait it concerned. Tigernuts have been an all time favorite with many anglers. Preparing the bait does not require much innovation except for a soak, a boil, and in some cases a bit of maple syrup or sugar. However, certain places in France don’t allow tigernuts as bait, so make sure you are well prepared otherwise.

Of course, you have the option of using your own bait recipe. This could be a better alternative because synthetic lob worm extracts available in the market do not contain the required amino acids that attract carp. Your bait recipe must include amino acids if you want a big catch. Sweet corn, cubed potatoes, cheese, and dough are ideal carp fishing bait.

Meat baits can help you catch loads of carp. Carp seem to thrive on spam and luncheon meat. Cut them into cubes and place it on the hook, and your bait is ready. Using a bait dip helps during winter since carp are less active during this season. To boost your carp catch, you can use paste baits that are sticky and can be molded on hooks, leads, and the main bait.

For a sure shot at a 30 pounders, lobworms are the perfect choice. This is great bait in summer and winter, which can be used alongside homemade pellets and pastes. Bloodworm products are expensive but are also a good option. Hormone based stimulants work well with male carp, which are easily attracted to such bait. However, to catch carp consistently you need to consider the location, season, and most importantly, the situation. If you are on for an overnight session or a day trip then high attraction baits are the best solution. They cost less and contain many additives, which is ideal for short fishing sessions only. If you plan to use these then carry different colors and flavors in your kit.

Carps are known to be greedy fish, so creating bait with a great taste will have them coming back for more. This means limiting the amount of preservatives, however, using this type of bait can assure a decent catch. There are plenty of high quality baits available at a price. These consist of a fishmeal base mix and a liquid attractor. Although the liquid attractor may not last in the water, the base mix is well flavored to last for much longer.

Another good bait are the high nutritional boilies that contain all the necessary nutrients. However, these are expensive but provide value for money. They have a longer life cycle and can be effective for carp fishing sessions over five days or more. They may contain less liquid attractors, which is why it may take longer to attract carp, but is more effective in the long run. Adding a bait dip works well with this type of bait. Remember, it’s all in the ‘bait’. So, a little bit of trial and error will help you find the right bait.

Tuna are among the most splendid fishes to behold because they can come in different looks. Each kind of tuna has its own distinctive feature and it can be a lot of fun telling an albacore from a bluefin or a blackfin from a yellowfin. Indeed, fishing for tuna can be lots of fun that more and more people are becoming interested in and fascinated by it. If you are planning to go out to sea to catch some tuna, it would help to learn a few tips on catching tuna fish. Doing so will give you more opportunities to catch as many tuna as you can.

Catching tuna fish can mean spending a lot of money. Not only will you need to rent a boat, you also need to prepare your own gear. Of course, there are fishing clubs that are more than willing to help you get started but membership fees can also come at a price. Nevertheless, catching this wonderful fish can truly be rewarding. Before you go out at sea, trolling on the vast waters, try to learn some tuna fishing techniques to make your whole experience more worthwhile.

Remember that it makes a lot of difference to control your speed. It is ideal to troll for tuna at 5 miles an hour. You can go up to 8 miles per hour but do no go any faster than that or you will scare all the fish away. In catching tuna fish, try to follow a pattern of making 2 long lines hanging 2 outriggers and 2 shorter lines held out flat with a deep line straight down the middle – this should resemble the letter W.

Pay attention to your lures and nature. Use an attractive display of lures so you can trick the tuna into thinking that there is a panicked school of fish in the water. You also need to keep an eye on diving birds. Where birds dive, you know there are schools of bait fish nearby. And where there are bait fish, so are tuna fish. Experts say that tuna fish also tend to swim near pods of dolphins or shivers of sharks.

And of course, you also would want to consider the time of the year when you are planning to go out to catch some tuna. Catching tuna fish is ideal during the summer because they tend to hunt in surface waters during warm seasons. In winter, they would tend to hunt deeper into the water so catching them will prove to be a challenge in cold weather.

Knowing how to tuna fishing takes fishing to a all new level. The feeling that comes when you realize you have a fish that large on your line is exhilarating! That feeling can’t be found anywhere else. Find out how you can learn how to catch tuna fish today.

Oh, I know, I know—–the world is coming to an end. The day outside is abominable—rainy, blustery, cold—and you were all supposed to go fishing; well, take stock of the situation—-all is not lost, if your computer works. There are all kinds of bass fishing games online just for the looking, and you can find almost anything you are looking for that will take away your doldrums and give you hours of fun chasing fish online, almost as good as the “reel” thing.

First up is Bass Fishing Pro—-one of the most fun and most realistic of the bass fishing games found on the internet. As you get into the action of catching fish, you will move upward from level to level the more fish you catch and the quicker at it you get. But don’t get so involved that you lose track of how much gas you have in the boat, because when the gas runs out—-guess what, boat stops and what comes next? You got it—-oars come out and you are rowing after the fish. Not good for your rapid pursuit of fish, and your catching prowess relates in direct proportion to the forward motion of the boat. Make it a goal to never run out of gas and you can upgrade your boat as you go and as you win fishing tournament after tournament moving up the ladder of success. Good times had here.

This is a good one when it comes to fun bass fishing games. This is called Fishing Champion and it is cartoon based with all kinds of fun things happening all around you. The casting action that you go through is so realistic you will feel like you are actually fishing and then hooking the fish and finally reeling it in. The object is to hook bigger and bigger fish, because the bigger the fish, the more money goes into your pot; and the opportunity exists to get extra cash by hooking bonus fish. What a trip! Along the way are lots of bass fishing tournaments and as you win at each tournament, you move up from level to level to reach the top. Great fun.

Our next candidate in bass fishing games found on the internet is one called Fishing Frenzy, and it is true to its name. This one is for those folks who want a real challenge in trying to beat the clock, and as the game gets harder, it gets more frenzied, and you start to sweat as you watch the clock ticking and ticking away without missing a beat. The fish grab the line and pull the bobber under the water’s surface and the fun is on—-you set your hook and go after him in the shortest time possible. The action increases as does the difficulty of each level and that old clock never stops. You will have the “time” of your life with this game. Lots of action and fun.

As far as bass fishing games go, this one is a real (or should I say “reel” winner). It’s called Reel Fishing and it tends to lean on the simple side of action, but nevertheless is a winner when it comes to fun for the whole family. The idea is to catch as many fish as you can, while you sit in a stationary boat on the water with the fish swimming as shadows below you. You cast at the shadows as they move constantly around your boat in circular patterns and you aim your line at the moving shadows. But, there is a catch here—-watch out for the level of drag pressure you put on your line, because if it becomes too great, SNAP—-and you are done. Good family game and will keep you entertained for hours.

The next item in the list of most fun of the bass fishing games, is one called Survivor Fishing. In order to get anything to eat, you must live off the land. You make your way to the river where there is a goodly supply of fish, and test your skill and reflexes at catching as many fish as you can so you have something for supper. Be careful in your zest to catch your next meal, because if you pull too hard on the equipment you are using, the pole will break and you will be out of the game……the object is not only to catch as much as you can with your knowledge of fishing, but also to keep close watch on the tautness of your line so you don’t pull too hard and end the game. You have the option of playing with a character face to make it more personal, or not; the choice is yours.

Just remember, that even though your plans for a day of fishing in the great outdoors have fallen through; that doesn’t mean you have to give up any hope of fishing at all. Just browse up bass fishing games on the internet, and you will find tons of them that will keep you and your family entertained for literally hours.

Fishing equipment is called fishing tackle by fishing aficionados and it usually refers to rods, lines, hooks, sinkers, spears, lures, bait, reels, nets, and so on. The fishing gear that is attached at the end of a line is called terminal tackle

The word tackle when it refers to fishing equipment comes from ‘takel’ which first meant the rigging on a ship, that is, the equipment consisting of ropes supporting a ship’s masts and sails. Later, the same word was recorded as having a different meaning, that of equipment for fishing and that meaning has been preserved ever since then.

The most basic fishing apparatus consists of a rod, a line, a hook, a lure, a bait and a weight or sinker. The line is a simple string especially made for fishing that is both long, thin and yet strong, so that fish do not notice it. There are various things that an angler asks about when buying a fishing line, such as its resistance, stretch, strength et cetera. The line will be selected based on what kind of fish the angler intends to catch.

The sinker or weight, also called a plummet, is actually a weight that assists in casting the hook and the bait as far as possible from the shoreline or from the boat that the fisherman is using. They are often made of lead as their purpose is also to sink and to get the bait closer to the fish in the water as quickly as possible. However, lead sinkers have been outlawed in some parts of the world, especially the very small ones, which are often called ’shot’. If ingested by birds or other fish, the lead, which is well-known for its high toxicity, will cause the death of the animal.

Another basic piece of fishing gear is the hook. This device meant for holding the bait on the line and for hooking into the fish’s mouth. It is fastened to the line and the angler can choose from a very variety of shapes and sizes.

And last but far from least, is the bait or lure, without which fishing equipment cannot be effective. A lure is a man-made device attached to the end of the line that resembles the prey of the fish you are after in every way. Its purpose is to attract the attention of the fish with its colour shape and movement. Artificial flies, tiddlers and sand eels come into under this category. When the fish bites the lure, it gets hooked.

Whilst, bait, on the other hand, is the item physically attached to the hook. Bait is usually of two types: animal or foodstuff: ‘animal’ refers to small fish or other water creatures, insects or crawlers and ‘foodstuff’ refers to things like grains, such as wheat, bread or whatever the angler believes might attract the fish.

Many outdoor enthusiasts look to sophisticated technology to help them in their outdoor activities. For these individuals, utilizing a fish finder is a handy implement to help them catch fish. Many individuals swear by old tried and true methods to find the best fishing holes. But when used properly, advanced technology will take some of the speculation out of catching the big one.

Nothing takes the place of know-how in terms of fishing, however knowing how to correctly use a fish finder can make a lot of difference to your results. Knowing how to calibrate the apparatus and understanding the readings that you get are the main measures in making use of this piece of modern technology to your profit.

The sonar technology that these gadgets utilize functions very much like echolocation. Its job is to bounce sound waves through the water and measure the distance to the next solid or semi solid object. It does this by way of the accurate timing of the sound waves’ reactions.

The first objective is to correctly mount your equipment. If you don’t arrange your equipment correctly then your reading will be off and your information will be inexact. This information is contained in the material that accompanied the device, as various models have varying requirements. The next thing to tend to is setting the sensitivity of your apparatus. If you turn down the sensitivity, you will take the chance of being unable to see the bottom of the body of water that you’re on.

It may very well take you a bit of time to learn how to read your fish finder exactly right. It is not unusual for logs or debris to be confused with one really big fish just below you. Once you get the hang of it you will find that those mistakes are minimal.

The improvements and enhancements that have been applied to this technology are actually quite remarkable. You can frequently see things like the tiniest school of fish to the type of fish that are circling your lure. It’s a fantastic device that can still be used as a supplement to your gut feeling, if you prefer.

Blending the old and the new can make for a greater knowledge base when it comes to fishing. You do not need to completely discard the old ways in order to take up the new experience of making use of a fish finder to enhance your pleasure.

Don’t know your Garmin Fishfinder140 from your Furuno FCV? Read fish finder reviews to help you make the right choice.

Tuna are among the largest and tastiest saltwater game fish. Many people love to eat tuna fish because of its natural flavor, and many game fishers are after this kind of fish because of it can grow to such large sizes. There are different kinds of tuna and the most popular ones are the yellow fin, black fin, skipjack, albacore, and blue fin. Blue fin tuna are by far among the largest and they are primarily the reasons why fishing enthusiasts would want to learn how to fish for tuna.

Fishing for tuna does not really require any complicated piece of equipment – you only need to learn the most effective techniques on how to fish for tuna. One thing you should know about tuna is that it is quite possible to catch them in coastal waters but you will have better opportunities of catching large species if you pursue them offshore. The two most widely used techniques in catching tuna fish are chumming and trolling.

Chumming refers to a technique used in catching fish with the use of bait. You will then need to add more bait into the water so you can better attract the tuna. When chumming, you will need to prepare the chum or bait. It is more effective to cut up the bait and keep all its blood and entrails. Once you have reached a potential fishing area, you will need to pour the chum or bait overboard in regular intervals. You can then cast your baited line into the trail of chum behind the boat. It will not be that long before you will notice that tuna fish have started to feed on your chum. You will need to set the hook when a tuna strikes so you can land it. Remember to treat the fish appropriately – the manner would depend on whether you will release the fish or keep and eat it.

The other method fishing for tuna is through trolling. This pretty much involves the same preparatory processes like in chumming but instead of throwing bait out into the water, you simply need to attach a lure into outriggers set on the boat. Ideally, you can troll four or more lines on a trip. When the tuna strike, the outrigger will release the line when it is set correctly.

These are the two ways of how to fish for tuna. You might not be able to master them right away but through practice, you will sure be able to catch your kind of tuna.

how to catch tuna fishtakes fishing to a all new level.
